Out-of-network fees

Explained

We are out of network with some of the insurance companies due to being a small private clinic without the ability to negotiate with insurance companies to get an acceptable rate for visits

We realize that there are bigger clinics in the area that may accept your insurance and that you have a choice to see them, and we appreciate the loyalty of our patients

To help with the common questions about billing and insurance coverage, please see the information below:

  • If you have one of the insurances that we do not participate in-network with, you have the option to be seen in our clinic and pay upfront, then submit the claim to your insurance for reimbursement

  • Your insurance card should provide information for how much you must pay for an out-network visit. The value will be either in $ or %. Most commonly your out-of-network cost is 20-30% of the visit.

  • Some examples of how this could work:

    • A new patient visit may cost $250. You would pay $250 during your visit, and then submit a claim. If your co-pay is 20%, your insurance will then reimburse you $200 by sending you a check.

    • A follow-up visit may cost $175. You would pay $175 during your visit, and then submit a claim. If your co-pay is $35, your insurance will then reimburse you $140 by sending you a check.

Online digital evaluation and management services

Explained

We strive to take the time to explain all services, instructions and diagnoses to educate patients so that they can actively participate in their well-being. Most patient messages (via phone or portal) can be answered in a relatively quick manner. However, sometimes outside of a visit we must review past medical history, medical standards which can take a significant amount of time. In these rare cases, we will bill your insurance or yourself if cash pay.

Normal services, such lab reviews and follow ups after a visit are part of a standard visit, and do not apply.
